Co-curated with Saatchi Gallery, the Bagri Foundation presents Myths, Dreams and New Realities. The exhibition spotlights 13 emerging artists from across the Asian diaspora, who each reimagine cultural identity through personal mythologies and visionary material practices.

Throughout the exhibition, human and non-human landscapes are revealed through painting and sculpture. Artists reimagine their relationship with land and body, drawing inspiration from craft traditions and ancestral memory. Whether working with natural pigments, found materials or industrial processes, each artist builds a unique reality, some built on myths or dreams whilst others on our own bodies, offering not just new ways of seeing, but exploring new ways of being.

Homo Faber Fellowship is a 7-month sponsored programme pairing established artisans with emerging talents. Supported by Jaeger-LeCoultre, it fosters business, design, and practical skills through intergenerational transmission. Kuniko will collaborate as a master artisan with a fellow, Momoka Ienaga, to create new artwork, which will be showcased in Milan next spring. This edition has also received support from Mazda Europe, whose commitment to craftsmanship and creativity resonates deeply with our own vision and values.

London Craft Week
Soane Britain has launched a limited-edition collection of wall lights in collaboration with London-based Japanese artist Kuniko Maeda. Inspired by Karl Blossfeldt’s botanical photographs, the ‘Mallow’ and ‘Dragon Head’ lights are crafted with handmade paper from The Paper Foundation in the Lake District. Using the traditional Japanese kakishibu technique, unripe persimmon dye is applied by hand to strengthen the paper and create a mellow amber tone that ages gracefully.
Soane champions British craftsmanship and transparent making processes, working closely with artisans to preserve traditional, often endangered skills. Visitors can explore Kuniko’s sculptural paper wall lights at Soane’s Pimlico Road showroom, tracing their journey from handmade paper to the artist’s delicate, unfurling forms.
